Auditions

The official audition horn for Fall 2016 hath been sounded! Check out the most recent post for details.

The Audition Process:

Auditions are really easy; all you have to do is show up. You’ll fill out a quick audition sheet with some info about yourself. Then you’ll come in and chat with us a bit and sing for the group. Have a quick snippet of a song prepared (about a verse and chorus, typically around a minute). This song can be anything you like, but keep in mind the genres of music that Basses Wild performs. Check out our YouTube channel for some ideas. After that, we’ll do a quick range check and some basic group singing (don’t worry, it’s really not that bad) and that’s it! You’ll be on your way.

If you’ve been chosen for a callback, you’ll get an email inviting you to another audition. We’ll send you a short piece of music to learn. Practice your part with the provided sheet music before you come to your callback. When you come in again, we’ll review it with you and have you sing your part with the group. We’ll also have you sing a second 1-minute solo of your plus your original audition song again (just to refresh our memories). Again, it’s really not that bad.

If we still like you after that, you’ll be contacted by a current member extending you an invitation to join the group! How awesome is that? At this point you may accept or decline the invitation.

We hope to see you at auditions. If you’ve got any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to send us an email at basseswildumn@gmail.com or message our Facebook page.
